New Girls on the Block

Princes Juliana, Jade, Bella, Dawn and Samia have joined the Potager flower beds.
My passion for the ornamental side of planting was again given reign in the 'sweet shop' Duchy of Cornwall Nursery at Lostwithiel last week.
Calling in for some Kniphofia 'Limelight' that will go so superbly well in the olive bed with their green firework spires ,and that's all I promise, I was really surprised, well not really, to find some sisters for the K.'Green Jade' that I found as a suitable alternative to the 'Limelight'.
Coming home with me were an orange Geum 'Princess Juliana' which is now carefully divided into 8 new 'plantlets' potted up on the bench awaiting their final growing spot. Achillia 'Teracotta' got the same treatment. Finding Phlomis 'Samia' was a treat as I didn't know this plant and am looking forward to finding it a home at Potager. Likewise Nepeta 'Dawn til Dusk' and Sanguisorba 'Tanna'. Centuarea bella will easily fit in with its delicate grey foliage and bobbing pink knapweed flowers, smaller, subtler and more sensible than her brother Centuara Montana Blue (pictured), cousin of the cornflower, who will be moving on due to excessive over self seeding.
We are always developing and tweeking the planting so if you haven't visited Potager recently do come and enjoy the new girls!
